C and C designs new exhibit space at Officina delle Zattere

Venice, November 2012

Appointed by the company managing the exhibit area, C and C converted what had previously been used as an educational workshop of the Complesso degli Artigianelli Institute into a modern exhibition space particularly suited to contemporary art.

Officina delle Zattere has a covered area that measures approximately 500 square metres made up of exhibit halls, two rest areas, one office, two storage rooms and bathrooms.

The solutions designed by C and C make it possible for curators to use natural light or darken rooms effortlessly. Metal structures placed obliquely on the ceilings of the rooms allow for quick and easy installations of the spotlights needed for any exhibit as well as for audio/video equipment installation.

Cardboard furniture, personalized upon suggestion of our studio, characterizes the exhibit area in observation of environmental sustainability.

Outdoor paving that leads into the first hall guarantees a gradual transition from the covered walkway dedicated to the presentation to the exhibit area.
