Palazzetto Bragora

Restoration project and operations management

Venezia, 2010-2013
End use: Residential complex
Surface area: 635 square metres of covered area, 4 floors
Assignment: Complete
Client: private

The restored property is located in the historical district of Castello. It is made up of several buildings, which could be developed to a maximum of 4 floors, and has a small interior courtyard.
The building, which dates back to the late Byzantine era, was completed in the Gothic period and has undergone successive interventions to its interior layout during the course of the centuries.

Our studio was asked to develop a restoration project for the Gothic façade overlooking the canal, the roof and the residual historic elements (wooden flooring and deck flooring in the Venetian wing).

Our project also included the replacement of the wooden staircase, dating back to the early 1990s, with a new structure enclosed in an elliptical wooden and steel case.

The following work has already been completed: removal operations and laying of the finishing surface, structural strengthening, specialised restoration of the façade and the interior decoration of the roof and demolition work to modify some of the interior layout, dictated by the needs of the new property and current housing standards.
