Thanks to C and C's project, a historic lodge has been adapted to current seismic standards, respecting local building traditions.
Vallada Agordina private house
In the province of Belluno, in the upper Cordevole Valley, lies the scattered municipality of Vallada Agordina; the centre of the village is the hamlet of Sachet, just over 100 metres above sea level.
The building that is the subject of the intervention is a traditional construction typical of the area, with wooden walls and stone covered with plaster in the lower part and in the large foundations. The roof is made of wood and metal sheets.
At the beginning of our project, the building was in need of substantial and intensive restoration work.
We, therefore, focused on seismically securing the structure within the legal framework of Sismabonus and respecting local traditions and construction methods.
CONTENTS
For a long time, ownership of the building was fragmented among numerous families, with three of the seven flats left empty in the course of time. This situation hindered maintenance and restoration and changed only when three units in the western part, located on three different levels, were acquired by a single family.
Our intervention focused on reinforcing most of the building’s structural elements and replacing the roof and its frame.
In parallel, we designed the union of the three units of the western part belonging to a single family, realising a functional and comfortable internal distribution.
